What is OneStart?
OneStart is a UITS developed and supported web portal that provides links
to online services at IU. One of those online services is SIS (Student Information System). The Student Self-Service link in the sidebar under
the Services tab in OneStart is how students access the Student Center, which includes Registration, Unofficial Transcripts, Grades,
Schedule of Classes, Class Schedule, and more.
How do I Register for Classes?
The Student Center, found via the Student Self-Service link in the sidebar under the Services tab, in OneStart is the gateway to IU's Registration Services.
Registration instructions can be found on the Registration Instructions page.
I'm having problems accessing OneStart, where do I go for help?
If you are having problems logging into OneStart, contact the UITS
Support Center at 812-855-6789, or send email to ithelp@iu.edu.
On the Student Self-Service page in sidebar under the Services tab in OneStart, why do I get a blank page or an "Access denied..." message?
Some network configurations (firewalls or incompatible web browsers) prevent you from accessing certain links in OneStart.
Try connecting from a different computer at a different location, or contact the UITS help desk at (812) 855-6789. You can also view a Knowledge Base article on this topic.
I tried to register for classes in OneStart, but the Registration
System indicates I have a hold on my record, what do I do now?
If any holds are reflected in OneStart, you must take corrective action to obtain a release for each hold item.
Students can view the details about holds on their record in the Student Center, found via the Student Self-Service link in the sidebar on the Services tab, in OneStart. Information about the hold item will be displayed including reason, department name, contact info, and instructions for releasing the hold. Allow up to 24 hours for holds to be released.
I'm trying to register for classes but OneStart only shows my previous semesters attended, not the one for which I'm trying to register.
Prior to any registration attempt each student must be "Term Activated" by their school or division. If you do not see a link for the
term for which you are trying to register, contact your school or division.
If I need to leave the university, how do I withdraw from all of my classes?
Through the first week of the term, students can withdraw from the university without penalty by dropping all
classes using the Register & Drop/Add link in the Student Center, found via the Student Self-Service page in the sidebar under the Services tab, in OneStart.
After dropping all classes, it is a good idea
to print a copy of your Class Schedule to be sure all classes were successfully dropped.
After the first week of the term there is a different procedure. You may view details at
http://registrar.indiana.edu/withdrawuniver.shtml.
Where can I find a list of internet courses that can be taken online?
Internet courses are available through Indiana University to students worldwide. These courses, conducted entirely over the World Wide Web
and Internet technologies, require students to have access to a computer, a modem with an Internet connection, a WWW browser, and e-mail.

I'm a new student on the Bloomington Campus,
what do I have to do to meet Immunization Requirements?
In accordance with Indiana Code 20-12-71, "Immunization Requirements at the Postsecondary Level," all students
who attend Indiana University-Bloomington for their first major semester during or after First Semester 1995-96 must
provide immunization information to the Office of the Registrar. Information about how to comply with immunization
requirements can be found at http://registrar.indiana.edu/immunization.shtml.
What is the difference between the Health Center
"Health History Questionnaire" form and the "Immunization Compliance" form required by the Office of the Registrar?
The immunization section of the "Health History Questionnaire" is intended to provide the Health Center with
a record of your immunizations as part of your overall medical history. The Health Center refers to the Health History Questionnaire when providing medical care.
The State of Indiana mandates that the University must collect immunization information for Diphtheria, Tetanus, Measles,
Mumps, and Rubella from all new students, including intercampus transfer students new to the Bloomington campus.
Indiana State law also requires the University to inform you of the
risks associated with meningococcal disease (Meningitis) and
the benefits of vaccination. All Students are required to confirm that they have read and understand these risks (see the link below
for details).
The University is required to monitor immunization compliance, provide notifications, and prohibit students from registering for
future terms if they fail to comply. Details on how to comply using the online "Immunization Compliance" form can be found at
http://registrar.indiana.edu/immunization.shtml.
