Ordering Transcripts
Online for Former Students
Available to former students whose IU accounts are disabled and do not need to include and attachment.
Important Notes:
- Transcripts ordered online through the eTranscript Request system are official and bear the Registrar’s Signature and the university seal.
- Under normal circumstances, online transcript requests will be processed and mailed within the following two business days.
- Students requesting the "Pick Up" option (students pick up their transcripts in Franklin Hall 100) must present a valid photo ID (e.g. driver's license, passport, or state ID). Only the student may pick up their transcript.
- I.U. departments requiring transcripts from all institutions you have attended have access to your I.U. record. Before ordering an official transcript, you may want to inquire if the department requires an official transcript showing your I.U. work.
- eTranscript Request is available Monday - Saturday, 6 a.m. - 5 a.m., and Sunday 8 a.m. - midnight.
- The eTranscript request system does not accommodate attachments. If you need to include an attachment with your transcript request, please use our Request by Fax or Mail service.
NOTE: In order to authenticate to the eTranscript Request system you must answer a series of questions. The answers you provide must match the information contained in your Indiana University record. These steps are in place to validate your identity and insure the appropriate security is in place prior to releasing your academic record.
You are given two chances to authenticate to the eTranscript Request Service. After two unsuccessful attempts, you will be locked out from using the eTranscript Request system for a period of 30 days and referred to our office for other transcript request options.
Go to eTranscript Request. (Link will open in a new page/tab.)
To receive a copy of your official transcript, all financial obligations to the University must be clear/current. This includes your account with the Office of the Bursar (812)855-2636, Student Loan Administration (812)855-4511, or the Dean of Students/Greek Housing (812)855-8187. If you have any past balance due with any of these offices, there will be a "hold" on your record and we will not be able to issue your transcript. If you think you might have any past debt to any of these offices, please contact that office for clearance before issuing your transcript request. If you are unsure about any possible account holds, give us a call and we can check the status for you (812)855-7505.
